Unfortunately... we got shut out.

Fortunately... so did Tech.

But, um, yeah. 65 minutes of scoreless hockey may make Jacques Lemaire excited, but I don't think anyone else was excited. And 16 shots on goal??? CRASH THE NET!!!
We would have been taken out like the trash against a better team.

THANK YOU Alex Stalock for being "perfect" tonight.

ALSO Jeff McFarland, you are awesome. I am sorry that you got your goal waved off. I know you were opening the scoring floodgates, but then got screwed. You rock. And I know you'll get one tomorrow because I TOTALLY CALLED IT.

RWD would also like to give a shout out to The Beard, Anonymous Source Extraordinaire. But I would also like to mention to him that if he expects to find any love for the Gophers here (other than RWD Random Fave Blake Wheeler), he will be disappointed. Goes with the territory.

I would rather have a 0-0 game than the crap we had tonight. I can't even BEGIN to tell you about the ref job. Trust me..I'm pretty sure we got screwed more tonight than you did last weekend. Oh well..on to tomorrow night. Check out Chris Clark's kick ass new helmet on my blog...very sweet!

Also, my friend that's the ex-Champ is heading back to MN this week..we're going out on Weds. night and I think I'll call him Champ all night for sure:) Maybe if I get him drunk enough he'll tell me inside secrets of the Bulldog program:)

First:
Congrats on a point. A point is a point.

Second:
Not to bring an argument to your fine doorstep but ...

The Mav totally didn't get screwed. Inferences to the contrary are entirely baseless from homers in the rink. Anyone viewing a TV replay would clearly see that Campion had his arm raised for a penalty and that Kalipunk absolutely NAILED Lawson before the puck crossed the line (not to mention that the net was off it's moorings as well and the puck went in off his skate). For that matter the first goal Kalnipunk scored went in off his skate after Lawson poke checked it away. I guess Campion screwed UAA on that one.

"Fat Rebound" Tormey was the reason the Mav lost.

Faux-lay Faux-lay ... Faux-lay Faux-lay

Hey now...I'm talking about the WHOLE game, not one play.

Also, a goal counts off a skate if there wasn't a "kicking motion"...so UAA didn't get screwed.

RWD D,
OK, that was very well put.{the Gramps post} As you know I'm not a great fan of most ref's but I like the way the PP's are being called, and getting rid of the lousy hook, hold and smash stuff. Hockey is legally rough enough without garbaage shots.
Love, Gramp

Gramps,

I think they could improve up on the clutch and grab calls in this particular series. Shepherd has a "let them play" attitude. But overall, they are trying. Glad you liked the post for you!
