Pink Hearts, Orange Stars, Yellow Moons, Green Clovers and Purple Horseshoes

tUMD 3, Red Menace 2 (OT)

Well then. Guess that little #1 curse was lifted tonight. If the Dogs aren't voted #1 again this week, I will choke a Gopher. Maybe I'll do it anyway. Kangas, maybe.

So, goaltending was a heck of a lot better tonight. Last night's replacements became tonight's starters. It isn't that big of a deal as both goalies were most likely slated to start tonight anyway.

I did not get to see the game because it was not televised in the Cities on FSN. It was on Charter but I have Comcast. Curse you, Comcast! Also, your internet service is kind of terrible. Nuts to that!

So I can't describe much of the action tonight, which is very upsetting because SO MUCH AWESOMENESS OCCURRED! A big goal from Kyle Schmidt got tUMD started in the second period. He snuck in a rebound from a Dylan Olsen shot. The goal was reviewed briefly but stood. UW scored later on what was pretty much a power play although it had just expired, for statkeeping purposes.

In the 3rd, Mike Connolly scored shorthanded! Craig Smith misplayed a puck or something and MCON was gone baby gone. A VERY QUESTIONABLE sequence of penalties led to UW's 2nd goal (Chuck that was what I was referring to as your "make-up goal) and then we had 10 minutes with no scoring and OVERTIME!

My Jacky got the GWG at the 1:11 mark of overtime and Bruce went absolutely ape-poopy. I started laughing, it was just so awesome, and some fans checking in from the Kohl Center told me they were "literally shaking!" What a charmed life we're leading right now.

Next weekend tUMD is off, which is so disappointing considering their magical start, but also necessary, as there are a number of guys banged up and playing hurt. Get some rest, boys, and have a GREAT Thanksgiving! (I'll have more posts of course. Ain't no rest for the wicked.)

How about Eaves taking a cheap shot at Crandall in the press after getting beat twice on the weekend. Classless.... Eaves wanted to get BB in over Crandall and he got him...now he takes a cheap shot in the press about off-ice issues.... Wisconsin has had more off-ice issues than any other WCHA team with Eaves pounding a player, and his players getting arrested time and again while he keeps it out of the press....Does Eaves really want to bring up off ice issues of staff and his players????

I saw that stated in the WSJ, but didn't see Eaves quoted on it. Was there an article where he was quoted saying that? Or was it just Andy Baggott being stupid?

Link me if there's one where Eaves was quoted.

There's the link you asked for. Before this, the story line was "bad results in juiors."

Thanks, Viz.

Eaves pulled the "off-ice" issues out of his ___. He wanted Bennett in and got him by taking Crandall's scholly. How Eaves has handled recruiting from the beginning of his tenure has been an example of everything wrong with college hockey: Early commits, delays, pushing players to leave, and pulling scholarships. For Eaves to try and say his pulling Crandall's scholarship was anything but another Mike Eaves tactic of recruitment is a lie. Not the truth but his own fiction. Crandall's reaction after the game was more than justified by how he was treated by Eaves pulling the scholarship and then by his statement in the press.

Sometimes Andy Baggott is kind of dumb, and at the time I thought he'd just made a factual error.

But nope, just Eaves re-writing history.

We won, Crandall is a much better goalie than Eaves thought, we've also now got Justin Crandall coming in, and what does Wisconsin have? Nothing. Muahahahahaha.

UW men's hockey: Eaves casts his lot with Bennett

Article about "off-ice issues" was posted Sat. 5:30 after first lost but before second game. Announcers had article and quote before second game. Eaves' statement was talked about by announcers during 2nd game. Eaves stated it after first loss not second. Plenty for Crandall to want to "salute" Eaves for.

Well, fortunately we came out the victors, Crandall especially!

I just realized I forgot Blue Diamonds in the post title. Darn.
